Hmmm … today I am wearing what can only be described as a big, black TENT!
I got this dress many, many years ago, back in my “fat days” and now I’ve had to haul it out my cupboard again *sob*. At least it covers me up though, which is just what I need after the bad news I received from the scale at gym yesterday *wail*. Hrmpf!
Yessiree, it’s even WORSE that I thought. Feck, I’m actually distraught … I thought I may have lost a few grams since I started gym again, but noooooo! Yours truly has put on even MORE weight! WTF?
So it’s official. I now have 10kgs to lose. Crap, that’s going to be hard work, but I’m not one to run from a challenge so I’m now going ALL IN to win this battle.
I’ll be training 5 days a week from tomorrow, giving myself Sundays off to rest. I’m currently going 3 times a week, but I need to do more cardio – at least 30 minutes on the treadmill and/or the bike on the extra days.
Urgh … I hate cardio.
I’m also so going to kill this binge eating nonsense!
Between my PA and my PT and me, we’re putting together a nutrition strategy and sticking to it like a fly on shit. I’m allowing myself to be a right spoiled brat hehe … PT draws up plan, PA executes plan, I just eat waha! I likey likey 😀
Take THAT Cookie Monster *shows the finger*.
I’m eating 5 x per day now, just enough to fuel my body, keep my blood sugar stable and my metabolism ticking over nicely. No more, no less. The evenings are going to be damn difficult though!!!
So there! Enough bitching about it. (I’m sure by now you’re tired of me droning on about this hey?)
Time for action!!

QUICK UPDATE @ 8pm
I have eaten almost PERFECTLY today … WOOHOO!!!
Breakfast: Protein drink
Morning snack: small apple and some grapes
Lunch: smoked chicken salad (minimal french dressing)
Afternoon snack: low GI bread, low fat ham, cucumber, reduced fat hummus
Dinner: grilled fish, carrots and peas (seasoned with fresh lemon juice)
NOW, I just need to hold out for a couple of hours till I crash and then I’m a WINNER 😀
CAN SHE DO IT??!!!

‘NOTHER UPDATE 16 JAN @ 10.50am
I did well people!! Just a handful of grapes at about 9.30pm
*pats self on the back*
Thanks Dad. My eating over the weekend was pretty good too! Not perfect, but not too shabby so I’m happy with that 🙂
@JustBcoz really well done on the Updates – proud of you! If you can keep that up most of the time you will really be doing well. Just don’t get down on yourself if you slip up now and again. Just get up and keep trying. Love Dad.
@Craig … peanut butter’s good! Sans jam though hehehe 🙂
Yeah, I’m still getting used to eating breakfast and sometimes I just can’t manage, so I go for a protein drink instead. At least that way, I can get something in my stomach without all the bother of preparation and chewing (saves time too.)
Ugh, breakfast sounds as tasty as a wooden plank – peanut butter and jam for the win I tell you! 😛
Totally relating to you B!!!
But can I just say (in a totally non-scissoring way, of course), that I think you are beeeoootiful … tall and gorgeous 🙂
Mmk, that aside – because it actually doesn’t matter at all what other people tell you, if you’re miserable with your body, no amount of flattery from other sources is going to change that, hey?
So … what to do then? Well, at the end of the day, it’s all about creating a calorie deficit – calories in vs calories out. My biggest eye opener was keeping a food diary to see EXACTLY what I was eating. You’d be surprised to see how it all adds up. Remember, you have to create a calorie deficit of 3500cals per week to lose just 400gr of fat in those seven days! That’s quite a lot …
Body for Life will always have a special place in my heart – it literally changed my life a few years ago and taught me SO much about nutrition, training, supplements and energy systems (yes, I have all the theory hehehe). I would HIGHLY recommend it to everyone who has clearance from their doctor to start it. And if you’ve done it before, it may just be the ideal way for you to easily kickstart your metabolism again. You’ve probably reached a plateau and need to have a hard look at your diet and switch your exercise routine up.
Please B, if I can help at all, PLEASE let me know. If you want me to take a look at your eating plan or training schedule, just shout, mmk?
I know how you feel..
I go to gym 3 times a week presently and on a low carbohydrate – high cardboard diet.. whatever,, still sucks..
But get through this I will.. Maybe I should do the BodyForLife again?!?!?!?! Dunno.. that or TLC.. I just know this must change.. I need to look sexy ..My madcow is starting to show..
@Chris … WOW! Sir G also reckoned it looks good, which I’m staggered at! I remember when I got it and wore it to a wedding, I overheard some beeatch whispering to her friend (while staring at moi) “eeew, she looks like she’s wearing her NIGHTIE!” I was so shocked, I don’t think I’ve worn it since!!
So thanks lollyloads … I feelz bettah 😀
And yeah … watching you hehehehe ….
The dress looks wicked, I was a little too shy this morning to tell you, but on here it’s easy 🙂
Moving along.. for me, it’s great to have people around me who are concerned about their health and who’ll look over at my desk and make sure that the Shell packet does NOT contain a pie, but actually a muffin 😉
@Dad … I *knew* you were going to jump in at the mention of Pilates heh.
@Amod … yeah, phr0ggi, very kuk 🙁 My goal is to fit into my clothes again … and my timeframe (‘coz I think THAT’s important too) is 4 months. Although I hope to be most of the way there by my birthday. (4 April … just saying)
@Steve … correctomundo! My Personal Torturer did take measurements for me (last week, I think) so I’ll have those to compare against in another 2 or 3 weeks. But hells, the measurements were BAD BAD BAD! Snow wonder I’m suffering from severe Muffin Top!

But never fear! Come next summer I’m going to be RIPPED 😀
Muscle weighs more than fat so with exercise you could be losing fat but not weight. Tracking measurements along with weight is a good way to tell.
Whoa. That’s hectic.
Personally (in my days before I became a slob) I found exercising with a goal in mind made it easier…
And by goal I mean getting fit enough to play in a basketball touney or climb a certain rockface or be able to cover the length of the offside boundary …
Then the whole toning/weight thing seems more like a benefit than a task.
My 2c worth…or 200 million Zim dollars depending on where you are in the world…
@laura keep talking about your pilates class. I have been tryig to persuade JustBcoz to give it a try – even offered to pay for a trial class.
@JOC See if you can work it so that the meals are from more (breakfast ) to least (supper).
The water is so important ’cause apart from the health aspect, it acts as an appetite suppressant.
Thanks Laura!! Oh man … I detest cardio. Gimme some iron to pump any day over prancing around in legwarmers and a headband LOL! Nah … I know it’s not like that, I just get this awful image of eighties cardio bunnies in my head all the time WAH!
GOOD LUCK!!! I love cardio – its all the other stuff I cant do which is why I LOVE my pilates class 🙂
SHIT! Thanks for reminding me 🙂
…..and don’t forget the two liters of water a day! best get cracking! hehe 🙂
