I went to see Mr Back Quack just now and according to him, my entire body is suffering as a result of being “locked up” for many years and my rigidity/immobility has caused me to feel like an old woman 🙁
See? I TOLD you I sometimes feel 77!! I wasn’t just imagining it …
And he’s convinced I MUST have injured myself somewhere along the line because “it’s just not normal!”
Anyway, normally he would see me in about 6 weeks, but he reckons I’ll need to go back to him in 2 weeks, perhaps even before then.
And, get this … I have to do yoga. Meh.
“Oooooooohhhm”
@SheBee … I can do relaxing 😀
@StevenMcD … you’ve surprised me!! I would never have thought of you as a Yoga or Pilates person 🙂
@BigFriendly … your last sentence is 100% accurate my friend. 100% …
Don’t discount Yoga. It’s a great way to strengthen and balance your body. I have a bad back from rugby at school and Yoga saved my sanity when I was in the army. Pilates is supposed to be great for this too. I know a great Yoga teacher and a Pilates teacher, so if you need some numbers/contact info let me know. They are not the same person.
I agree with StevenMcD, do both and see which one works for you. It will also be a great way of getting out the house and meet new people. I think you need to exploit every and any opportunity to break from past habits and cycles.
Do Both! I’ve started Yoga AND Pilates and they both freaking rock. Your gonna use muscles you didn’t know existed. seriously look into both. Another one to look into is Tai-Chi
Do. The. Yoga.
I promise you, I have never looked back. Its so relaxing. And not nearly as hippie as I imagined.
I’ll check it out 🙂
Check out the Pilates!!! You wont regret it.
Yoga is very good but I think Pilates would be the best for your alignment problems.
My Dad suggested Pilates too, but I must admit to being a bit afraid of that – the photos I’ve seen make it look like some kind of weird torture session! But I won’t close my mind to it – I’m willing to go check it out 🙂
Hmm I am doing pilates which really seems to help.
