It’s sinking in

You know how sometimes something feels too weird to be real?

And you can’t really get your head around it so you tend not to think about?

It’s out there, but it isn’t REAL for you …

I’ve been experiencing this.

Until today.

Today it feels real. Today it’s sinking in.

Today I’m starting to feel bleak.

My beautiful boy, Son#1, is leaving on Tuesday … for a year of travelling and working overseas.

The Gap Year.

Shit, I am going to miss him SOOOOOOOO much!

I love you, baby xxx

The Tattoo Project

As commissioned by Son#1.

The brief:
Something very personal. Contained within a circle.
Symmetrical. Black and grey.

The result:

He’s very happy with it 🙂

It’s going to go in the middle of his back. Now, to find the right artist …

Matric finals – here we go!

Wow. I can’t believe it!

Son#1 and his friends are into the home stretch of their school careers.
Good luck you guys xxx

Back left to right:  Son#2, moi, Son#1
Front: good friends, all grown up.

What a boytjie!

Son#1 stands proudly
(read: highly embarrassed – Mom, HURRY UP and take the damn picture before someone SEES!)
in front of his matric art exhibition, for which he was awarded 3rd place and
received a brilliant A!

I’m so proud of you, my baby 😀

I’m alive

After a rather revolting 10 days of being horribly sick, I’m back in the saddle. I won’t go into any gory details right now, I’m just grateful to be healthy again!

But, sadly – very, very sadly – I missed Son#1’s matric dance last Saturday. I’m (still) absolutely heartbroken about this and pissed off that I couldn’t be there on his big day. I’m sorry, angel xxx

I managed to get a couple of photos though … how ridiculously beautiful is my boy?

My beautiful babies

I am just as much in love with them today as the very first day
I laid eyes on each of their glorious little souls.

And if it was indeed possible to burst with pride, love and excitement for them,
there would be a disgusting bloody mess all over my dining room right now.

Just saying …
