I just got a call from The School regarding the punishment decided on for Son#2’s latest “indiscretion.”
(You can read about that here)
Anyway, the deal is that he’s going to get a written warning from them tomorrow, detention on Friday, and he’s going to have one of his privileges taken away – and they’ve gone for the jugular here: he has to cut his hair!!!
I am SO flipping relieved that he’s not going to be expelled!
What does Son#2 think of it?
“NO!! NOT MY HAIR!?!? I’d rather be expelled.”
Yip, the little man sure loves his long locks but hellz bellz, a haircut over getting expelled? That’s a no brainer.
Take the haircut and RUN my boy!
*whew*
@JustBcoz – Good idea so speak to the School and see what they have to say. You could then all sit down with Son2 and go through the process with him.
@Dad … but we don’t disagree on this. I was just relaying what Son#2 said, and how *he* feels …
However, having said that, I do feel that a year is quite a long time and I would like to see them offering back the privilege WITHIN the year as a reward to him for good behaviour. That would encourage him, rather than potentially have this whole issue backfire on everyone.
Sorry – wear his hair not hear. Just my dyslexia creeping in .
@JustBcoz – there is not much we ever disagree on but this is one of those times. If his life revolves around the length of his hair to such a degree then something is out of wack. When he is older and finished with school he can wear his hear down to his knees if he so wishes but then again he might not get work too easy. So lets agree to disagree!
He is truly distraught. In tears.
They want him to cut his hair as short as the headmaster’s (that’s REALLY) short and keep it that way for a year.
He says he’s going to look retarded and get himself expelled so he can grow it.
Eish …
Heh 🙂 Thanks, but I’m actually not too swamped today for a change! No deadlines today, which is a bit weird.
*sigh*
Kid drama just never ends, does it?
Eish, I would offer to take over some of your work, but then I’d need a second brain and a third arm!
*holding thumbs*
Oh crap. Just got a phone call from the little man: “Can you find me a new school please? I’ll tell you later.”
Huh?
*worried*
Jeesh JOC, you had me completely confuzzed hahaha!
hehe…..the above comment is mine, just son#1 using computer on my desk and not changing comment name back to me 🙂
I also like son#2 with the long hair, but right now having to cut his hair is the most awesome thing that could’ve happened in this situation! I love his school, because they took away the one thing that means something to him and now maybe he will think twice about getting into trouble again. Yay for you and son#2! His hair will grow again! yay! 🙂
He’s damn lucky!
But shame, don’t laugh at him, he’s distraught! He said to me last night: “may hair is part of who I am” …
I’m a bit sad about seeing his beautiful hair go too – I just adore long hair and his is so gorgeous, I think it really suits him *sniff*
It’s strange how you think when you’re younger. If I was young again, I would say the same thing as son #2, but now that I’ve faced the world, I would run to the bathroom and chop ALL my hair off to stay in school!
LOL, he’s very lucky
haha. thats hilarious!!!
🙂
He,he,he!!! It is almost as if the School phoned me and ask what should they do for a punishment.
Apart from that he is oh so lucky and I hope he understands what could have gone down.
