I’m alive

After a rather revolting 10 days of being horribly sick, I’m back in the saddle. I won’t go into any gory details right now, I’m just grateful to be healthy again!

But, sadly – very, very sadly – I missed Son#1’s matric dance last Saturday. I’m (still) absolutely heartbroken about this and pissed off that I couldn’t be there on his big day. I’m sorry, angel xxx

I managed to get a couple of photos though … how ridiculously beautiful is my boy?

Bug in the system

Snotting and sneezing all over the place.

Urgh … I’m feeling very sorry for myself today!

I’m aching all over and my head feels like it’s been cast in a Tarantino movie and is just waiting to explode all over the wall behind me.

I didn’t want to get up this morning (what’s new right?) but I’m up and about now. I have to finish off some coding and then I think I’m going to crawl back into bed with my bog roll. I need some rest, have to kill this thing. Pronto.

Our busy time is rapidly approaching and I CANNOT afford to be laid off! I mean, yesterday we got in 11 new applications for websites … ELEVEN!!!! And that’s not RFP’s – that’s I’ve-accepted-your-price-and-here’s-my-material sites. Lawd help us.

Just as well I don’t have to go out today. Mom’s Taxi Service is taking a break till Monday as Son#1 is playing in an international hockey tournament for a few days (go whip some Aussie Butt my boy!!) and Son#2 is still on holiday in the bush with his dad (miss you my Little Man).

So … let me get going. Later everyone xxx

Under the weather

Alas, I am not feeling too great today. I woke up at about 4 this morning with what appears to be a wicked little tummy bug and had to spend a few cold, long hours in the little girls’ room. So, I didn’t get much sleep last night and I only managed to drag myself out of bed at about 11am this morning. I think I lost about 5kgs overnight!

I hope whatever it is that’s invaded my body disappears fast ‘cos I wanted to try and get quite a bit done this weekend, like go to gym (I cancelled yesterday’s session), the dreaded weekly grocery shop, a visit the Red Cross to drop off more baby food and some nappies, unpack a few of the millions of boxes that I still haven’t gotten around to sorting out since the house contractors left …. months ago! Urgh. Also, I have a lovely new computer to set up! My Dad sold me his Mac when he cleared things out to move into his caravan and I’m really keen to get it up and running. This old dinosaur I’m working on is killing me.

But, I’m not really feeling up to any of that =(  Sir G has very kindly popped off to the shops to get me some essentials and some meds from the pharmacy. He’s so sweet, really, he looks after me so well … I love the way he takes care of me when I’m under the weather. So, I’m feeling a bit sorry for myself today, doing as little as possible and just resting up as much as my impatient self will allow me to.

It’s pretty chilly here in Cape Town today (well, 16 degs is chilly for us Capetonians anyway) so I think I’m going to stoke the fire up just now and get cozy on the couch under my duvet with a book.

Later …
