The Nerdies 2010 – thank you!

Well, bad news … despite having a considerable lead for quite some time in the competition, I didn’t win 🙁

BUT

BEEG HUGE ENORMOUS THANK YOU’S to everyone who voted for me! I really appreciate how you guys pulled out ALL the stops to spread the word and ask people to cast their vote for the cow_grrrl. I’m stoked at how many people voted – nearly 30% of my Twitter followers and MORE friends than I have on Facebook. That’s awesome!

Congratulations to BecauseI for taking the Girl Nerdies 2010 crown 🙂

I have pledged to donate One Hundred Ronds to the charity supported by this competition – The Wet Nose Foundation – and I challenge all 19 other finalists to do the same. And for the 2 winners to donate more …

Win a Piatto di Legno from Massimo’s Pizza Club

Massimo’s Pizza Club in Hout Bay, Cape Town, is known by many (including Rossouw’s Restaurant Guide) as doing the best pizza in the Cape.

Massimo and Tracy Orione now want to show that they can do more than just pizza and so they’ve recently introduced a menu item called the Piatto di Legno – a delicious starter consisting of a wooden platter full of home-made specialties.

The Piatto di Legno (valued at R89.00) is ideal to share as a starter, or for one person as a main. The ingredients will vary with season and availability; here are some of the good things you will find:

  • Parma Ham and melon
  • Salame or Coppa
  • Giardiniera
  • Melanzane alla Calabrese
  • Zucchine in carpione
  • Crostino with fresh goat cheese and salsa verde
  • Fior di latte mozzarella with pesto
  • Tuscan beans salad

Massimo’s breads are made with Eureka Mills flour, the same used for our pizza bases. The rye bread is raised for 48 hours, a process that gives a unique taste and fragrance.
