Baileys Fashion Weekend 16th – 17th August 2008
Amazing guerrilla store selling designer fashion at a discount.
It is opening in Woodstock in Cape Town for two days at the end of the Virgin Mobile Cape Town Fashion Week.
Basically it is only going to be open on 16th and 17th August and will be a one-stop shop for a whole range of well known and young South African designers’ stock at really discount prices. There will be about 30 designers all in one place. It is sponsored by Baileys and they are going to have a bar there (for those of us who drink and are over 18 of course!). ghd is also going to be there with demonstrations and try-outs for your hair.
Venue: The Runway – Fairweather House, 176 Sir Lowry Road, Woodstock (the entrance is through a parking garage in Francis Street at the back of the building)
Opening: Saturday 16th August 10am – 6pm
Sunday 17th August 11am – 4pm
R25.00 entrance fee (100% profit donated to charity)
I heard that designers who are participating include Coast and Koi – who do those divine shoes – and Stacey Paige who does girlie dresses that make us look slim. They are going to announce more designer names to the public over the next few days.
There is also going to be a fashion amnesty where you can bring along any unwanted clothes from your wardrobes and hand them in at the store, where there will be donated to the needy in the Western Cape.
You can pay at the door but I think that it is going to be quite packed if it’s anything like the London version, so if you can, get your tickets from Computicket in advance.
