On Friday I was lucky enough to be one of the 8 people selected to take part in the Audi Centre Cape Town MVP Day.

The 8 MVP’s were:

So I got behind the wheel of an automatic for the first time in my life and my immediate (panicked) reaction was: “Oh crap! There are only 2 pedals … NOW what?” I was driving with Joe, who was ever-so-patient and polite while I got used to not using my left foot (and giving him a few hard-braked neck jolts at the same time … SORRY Joe!)

The A5 at our pit stop in Constantia.

Anyhoo … after those first few frightening minutes the Audi A5 2.0T FSi Multitronic was an absolute pleasure to drive. What a beautiful car!

At Constantia Village we stopped to swop cars and then it was the turn of the Audi Q5 3.2 FSI Quattro Stronic … more POWER! Lovely :D

The next pit stop was at The Toad in the Village in Noordhoek, where we were treated to refreshments before heading out again. At this stage, 2 draws were done to see who would be taking the S4 around Chapman’s Peak Drive and who would win the chance to take the incredible R8 V10 out for a test drive later. Charl Norman won the R8 spin (w00t!) and I won the S4 drive, which I decided to give away to one of the guys. Justin Hartman LEAPED at the chance to take this baby out and I rode with him as we meandered around one of the most picturesque places in Cape Town.

“Hurry up with the picture woman – I want to GO GO GO!”

Because I was in the S4 for the final 2 car changes, I missed out on driving the TT and the Q7 but HELLZ, I ain’t complaining!

Our final stop was at the Cape Grace Hotel in the V&A Waterfront where Audi Cape Town treated us to a great lunch before we all went our separate ways. (My little Polo felt like a piece of doo-doo after all that heh.)

We had an awesome time! Thanks so much to Audi Centre Cape Town and Wernich Stipp for hosting this brilliant day :D

Looks like you had an amazing time, that S4 is such a beast of a vehicle! The Q5 is one of those safe and sterdy cars, without leaving out the power – Wouldn’t mind being high up like that with such power :)

    Glad you enjoyed!

  2. Chris says:

So good to meet you finally and glad you had a nice time. Hope to chat soon and have a fab week.

  3. justBcoz says:

@Chris M … The S4 is completely luscious! The Q5 felt very solid, unfortunately there was quite a bit of traffic on Ou Kaapse Weg, so I didn’t really get to test it out properly but it felt great.

@Chris … Thanks so much for organising, Chris! And likewise – great to finally meet you and have a bit of a chinwag :-)

  4. Dad says:

Sounds and looks as if a great time was had by all. Lucky people!!!
    Nice pic of Hout Bay.

So so lucky, Dad! What a privilege … and getting to hang out with some fabulous people was just brilliant too. Loved it.

  6. Jeanette says:

    Sounds incredible!

    It was Jeanette :-)

  8. [...] Last week I organised the second Audi Cape Town MVP day. The general idea if you missed my last post on it, is to get Audi cars into the hands of SA’s most influential people in the digital space and have some fun while we are at it. The members are hand picked, and we only allow 8 people at a time to keep it select and private. MVP (Most Valuable Player) status gets you invited to excusive Audi events and track days along with a few preferential other things. This time the following fantastic people were in attendance: Lili Radloff, Justin Hartman, Matthew Buckland, Bradley Voges, Charl Norman, Joe Botha, and Sue Rutherford. [...]

    Now that sounds like fun!
