So here’s a handy little application that my Dad discovered a few days ago …

Nokia Sports Tracker is a GPS-based activity tracker that runs on Nokia smartphones. Information such as speed, distance and time are automatically stored in your training diary, and on this site you can store and share your workouts and routes.

I haven’t installed it myself but from screenshot, it looks like a nifty way to record your stats on a walk, run or cycle.

You can upload your workout summaries to the Nokia Sports Tracker online service so you can share your progress with friends and they are also working on a way to allow users to automatically update their blogs with this info.

The download page is here, if you’re keen …

  1. Dad says:

You can also create readouts that give you a summary for the week, month and year.
It is also really easy to use.

  2. Chris M says:

Ah yes, very cool. Nike also brought out something along these lines with regards to tracking distance traveled and then syncing with an online database :)

I remember blogging about it, so did Tyler Reid

  3. Eugene says:

I use my Garmin watch for running. I use to log my training, the cool thing is that I can sync my iPhone with mapmyrun so the data is available anytime + the iPhone mapmyrun app uses the the iPhone’s GPS to log your workout route, I haven’t tried this though!

  4. Jeanette says:

    That looks very cool

It does look cool, yeah … going to install it on my phone and give it a shot!

@Eugene … WELCOME! I see you’ve also started following me on twitter … nice to meet you :-)

  6. Glugster says:

*quickly tip-toes away again at mention of exercise*

AW SHOOT Glugster!! I keep scaring you away … hehe :-)
