I’m in a bitch of a mood this week – so frustrated, really irritable, ridiculously impatient, highly volatile, terribly tired and just all round CRANKY!
If there IS such a thing as Post-Menstrual Syndrome, then I’ve totally got it! I’m not joking … I’ve been doing some research to find out if my turning into a psycho after the Great Flood is just a coincidence or not.
Turns out it’s not.
Post-Menstrual Syndrome is real! Thank Gary the Duck. I’m not mental.
According to a few articles I’ve come across, Post-MS symptoms include:
- Headaches
- Changes in anxiety or depression or food cravings
- Breast swelling and tenderness
- Anxiety or depression
- Fatigue and trouble sleeping
- Joint or muscle pain
- Stress, irritability, mood swings
- Lack of concentration
Yip – that’s me in a nutshell at the moment!
To those around me at the moment: I’m truly sorry. I hate this as much as you do.

The thing is I get pre-MS, then feel terrible during, and then get post MS too. There is not much time in between to feel like a normal human being!

lol id have gone awol if i were male……. im not easy to deal with i know, ..but its not me being so moody…. it really isn’t…im nothing like that person any other time of the month…. grrr…… that girl has horns…. im usually quite sweet otherwise 🙂 as im sure u are lol 🙂 but yeah…sleep, exercise, decent food…….. sounds easy but really life gets in the way… so men just have to deal with it 🙂 nice blog btw 🙂 i like it 🙂

I have no clue how men actually cope with us – RESPECT to them for putting up with our psycho-bitch-roller-coaster-mayhem!! If *I* had to deal with me I would have gone postal a long time ago.
I guess eating correctly can only help, along with plenty of rest and exercise (I’ve been seriously lacking in both those departments for the last 7 days).

i sometimes get cranky after “the great flood”….. but maybe it could be helped by eating small meals throughout the day? but healthy options, just to keep ur energy levels up? I know when I haven’t been eating properly i tend to be very cranky…. 🙁

I read an article on this as well and one of the things that came out strong was iron deficiency and all of the above symptoms also occur with lack of iron. Also call anemia which is exacerbated with heavy blood loss.
