I haven’t been for a whole week – Easter Weekend really screwed things up a bit for me, but I was very good about not eating a lot of chocolate. I had one little marshmallow egg and one of those yummy, very rich crème eggs, that’s all! But gym didn’t happen – public holidays, Easter and My Coke Fest all kept me away =)
So I was really looking forward to going today, to getting in there and giving it 1000% percent. It was such a tough session, I worked my butt off! I felt so good afterwards and then, the best thing happened …. As I was walking out, some guy was on his way in (don’t know him from a bar of soap, but I think I’ve seen his face around) and he said: “Looking good!” as he passed me. I was floored! Couldn’t believe it and those two words totally made my day =) He didn’t have to say anything, he could have just kept going, but he did and that one little remark had such a good effect.
I think I’m going to be sore tomorrow though ….. I’m planning to go back for a cardio session tomorrow morning and hopefully I can convince one or both of the kids to come with me. We’ll see how the time goes – work is starting to hot up a bit.
I’m still thinking about the concert – it was so good to experience all those bands live. I’ve been checking out the post-concert group on Facebook and there are some awesome photos – http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=9644297257. I really wish we had more concerts here, especially rock concerts. My Coke Fest is about the only one in Cape Town so we have to wait another whole year for the next worthwhile event! Otherwise, one has to fly to the other side of the country to see a good performance and I’m not sure I can fork out for that again, although seeing Fall Out Boy last year was brilliant, worth every penny.
There are rumours that Muse is coming back in 2010 to play for the World Cup concert …. Hmmmmm …. How can I get my hands on a VIP ticket? How does one get a backstage pass to these things? I guess you just have to know the right people.
Well, I’m pretty buggered, it’s been a busy day and I still have chores and stuff to take care of.
